We need your books!

Here in Socotra we have a tourism initiative called “Bring a Book”. We would love it if every tourist who visits our beautiful archipelago could bring just one book with them that they can donate to our new library at our Institute in Hadibo.

We are looking for good quality books in English for both children and adults. So if you have any new or second hand books that you wish to positively upcycle please find space in your bag for them as our students would love the opportunity to read your book and become immersed in a wonderful story all whilst developing their English.

You are more than welcome to visit us and drop your book off in person and say “Hi” to our students who would love the chance to practice their English with you.

If you would like some ideas about how to fill the void in your bag that the book has left, we can recommend a jar of our local Socotran honey, some local Socotran dates, or a piece of handmade pottery made by local Socotran women.

For more information on this initiative, or our Foundation, please contact Claire at happyyemenyouthuk@gmail.com
