There’s no Uber on Socotra Island, how do locals and tourists get around?
There are very few public buses running through Hadibo (the capital) and most Socotris hike distances or travel on Camel-back to get around the island.

Great Island Experience
We booked 2 weeks on the island and had an amazing time: the island is wonderful, offers very diverse landscapes and sites and wild camping with few people around is the best! We were on the first flight in of the season (highly recommend) and could already feel the number of tourists had increased after the 2nd flight had arrived (only 1 flight/week). The weather wasn't as sunny as we had anticipated during the first week, but both we and the agency were very flexible on the multiple changes we made to the program (these were obviously a lot easier as it was just us and the guide/driver) due to weather conditions and sudden fuel price increases. The mist and rain added some mystery to the already stunning landscapes and provided some better conditions for hiking anyway 🙂 Our camping equipment was basic but sufficient and we were very happy to be with what looked like one of the few agencies (100% local) that was not offering all the fancy equipment such as electricity and overly bright camp lighting and lots of noise. If you want a more authentic experience, I definitely recomment New Horizon!
