As stated in the title, Socotra is lacking the services of a certain ride-sharing app, as well as other public transportation services we sometimes take for granted. There are very few public buses running through Hadibo (the capital) and most Socotris hike distances or travel on Camel-back to get around the island.

There is a paved, main road that runs across the whole northeastern coast and 3 roads that cross the centre of the island. However more adventurous types can explore the island through the gravel roads that many times would not yet be indicated on maps or GPS.

So how do tourists explore the hidden kingdom? Mostly through hired 4-wheel drive trucks prepared by travel agencies in Hadibo. These trucks are probably the most reliable modes of transport on the island as most are used for commercial purposes like deliveries and tours.
